One of the latest trends to appear on the runways and at hair shows is 'hair chalking'. After checking out some photos from the Spring 2014 runway shows, I decided to investigate. I learned that the technique which provides vivid color using a new method of adding color, hair chalk. My stylist, who is a color educator for L'Oreal told me about the fantastic new line of hair chalk colors they released just in time to appear on the Spring 2014 runway shows like Felder, Felder and Ashish for the Spring 2014 collections.
Hair chalks are a great way to add temporary color to your hair without committing to coloring it, or just to add a few hints of color like a streak of pink or green. This new trend has taken a strong foothold in the fashion world, and is growing ever more popular with the mainstream trends.
The color is so opaque and intense that there is no need to bleach the hair underneath to achieve bright color even if your hair is very dark. With hair chalks, even the lightest golden or light pastel colors will show up over dark hair.
You could have a whole rainbow of color in your hair - and the best part is that it is fairly temporary - it only lasts for about 6 - 10 washes, so feel free to get crazy with color!
Hair chalks come in a variety of colors from pretty pastels to neutral golden and earthy colors. The look below is from L'Oreal new line, Professionnel Hair Chalk...
