I went into k and d nails and tanning during a rainstorm last week and asked for a removal of my acrylic tips which I had placed for a wedding, and asked for a gel French manicure with oval shaped tips. The manicurist was rude, spoke a foreign language without acknowledging that she was drilling right through my nails even when I started to yank my hand away because it hurt. She cut my cuticle and made me bleed without even applying alcohol to the cut. I left with jagged shaped acrylic nails with a very poor quality gel polish applied on top and severely painful, damaged natural nails. I know there is some risk involved when you remove acrylic tips, but drilling someone's natural nail down to nothing is just plain incompetent. I paid the forty dollars without leaving a tip and got the heck out of there. Extremely disappointed.

You are never greeted with a smile or "Hi, how are you today". I mainly go there for tanning because its convenient for me on the way home..not because I feel welcome or because I even want to..mutiple times the tanning bed I have been sent to wasn't even clean and I would have to go out and ask her to clean it and she does it with an attitude ( or I wipe it down with my wipes ). I have gotten my nails done there twice..once a manicure (what I thought would be one)..horrible..gave them the benifit of the doubt and went to get a pedicure..was right the first time. My nails come out looking like I did them myself ( I probably could have done better ). They rushed through it both times. They don't act as if they even want to be there..and when you leave there is no "Have a nice day" or "see ya next time". Horrible service..RUDE!!! I know quite a few ppl who don't go there because of it too! SMILE PEOPLE!! seriously.

Staff is rude, curt, and has very poor customer service skills. I went for tanning, and was met with a "self-serve" attitude: I had to set up the bed myself, get my own towel (and was told to use their tiny wash cloth, not hand towels), and the tanning beds were poor quality. My tan was uneven and the beds got so hot that I couldn't tolerate them for over 14 minutes. When I found a new salon (with excellent customer service and superior quality products) I was told that I would not be refunded for my 2 unused tans I had purchased. If you want a bad experience with poor quality service and subpar equipment go to KD. You really do get what you pay for.

| User Review - Mystery S | Chris Has Left and So Havent' I
I had been going to KD Nails for about 9 years now. I absolutely loved Chris. He did a fantastic job on my nails and pedicure. It was easy to overlook the old polish, children toys about and no one speaking English. It was until one day that I found out that Chris has quit and Cathy told him he was on vacation. I felt so betrayed by Cathy (and I really like her)...That's it....I have found a much better place.

I asked for a thin gel overlay with an airbrushed french manicure, and was given a thick acrylic overlay with a hand-painted french manicure because the manicurist (no idea what her name is) insisted I'd like it better and it'd be cheaper. Not hardly!!!
When I asked her to fix the thickness of the acrylic (it was about 2 cm thick and VERY un-natural!), she rolled her eyes and hesitantly used the drill a little as she spoke a foreign language to one of her coworkers, and they started laughing. How rude!! After asking her 6 times to thin them down, I finally gave up and wound up going to a different salon where they took off the botched overlay and did my nails beautifully.
Learn from my mistake and please STAY AWAY from this salon! They do not speak very good English, nor do not understand English very well, but worst of all, they offer very poor service. Sure, they are fast, but they are VERY sloppy!!

Upon the advice from a coworker, I decided to give this salon a try. Big Mistake!! I received the worst pedicure EVER!! The polish was old I removed it as soon as I returned home. Please don't waste your time and money!!

I was sad to discover that "cathy" had left Northgate Mall's nail salon, but SO EXCITED when I discovered that she had opened her own business. She is amazing! It is a business started by she and her husband. Also working with them is her sister. There business offers manicures, pedicures, tanning, and waxing services. It is also conveniently located!
