    Sylvia is awesome!
    She's one of a kind. She "sculpts" with her own unique razor tool and really takes the time to ask you what you want. The prices are a sliding scale with a cut starting at $50, but it's SO worth it. An eclectic little salon attached to a gallery/gift shop, it's got the New Paltz vibe! Her two pomeranians hang around, so if you're really allergic to dogs I'd say to pop a benadryl and enjoy the haircut!

    Sylvia is simply the best!
    When I moved from NYC to Stone Ridge I was afraid I'd have to travel back to the lower eastside of Manhattan for my haircuts. So I read about local hair salons on the web and decided that Sylvia's salon - Androgyny House of Design looked interesting and creative and that I would not get a "cookie cutter" J.C. Penney cut! Well, Sylvia's work is even better Than I hoped. My hair has never looked better! Sylvia takes lots of time to talk about what you want and how she can get that llok for you - or maybe it's not for you! Now - if I move back to NYC, I will have to do a reverse commute to get my hair cut at Androgyny! P.S. Sylvia's been cutting my hair for over two years now.
